Willa at Play

Willa and Poppi play Sesame Street

Hangin' with Uncle Jesse

Willa took her first steps on Christmas. This how she likes to start... she hangs on tight then lets go and takes a couple really quick steps before she hangs on again!

I don't know what it is about the vacume but, Willa loves it!!

This is Willa sporting one of her new shirts from her aunt Jana and uncle Jim. It says "smart cookie"... how true!

Willa and Riley check out the view from the playhouse in the church nursery...

Now, this would be embarassing if you were say 15, it turns out, however, that it is really cute at 9 months. This is Willa's friend Olivia.

Willa is trying to gauge how much she has grown in the past month or two. Incidentally it is over an inch

Christmas Celebrations

We had several fun Christmas Celebrations with friends and family. Here are a few pics from our holiday gatherings...
Leah's dad, brother and grandpa joined us for Christmas. It was fun celebrating Willa's first Christmas surrounded by family!

We had and early wake up call on Christmas named Willa. Note how dark it is...

Will did get to open one present early from her aunt Jana and uncle Jim...

We had an impromptu Christmas potluck with many of our sweet B'ham friends. Here is a pic of the motley crew.

Let it snow, let it snow, let it snow!!

We had snow and freezing temps the week before and after Christmas. It was fun for about a day then it was just cold! It was kind of fun to have a white Christmas... kind of...
We had a pretty bad case of cabin fever so, we bundled up and headed out to Fairhaven for a bit of Christmas shopping and adventures in snow.

After a few days inside we ventured out to our front yard for a little snow time... this is Willa's first snow.

Lyle had just about had it with being stuck inside so, he and Bret ventured out for a snowy hike

This is Willa and Lyle look out at the snowy landscape wondering when they had moved from mild winter Bellingham to North Dakota....

Santa Train

Every year our good friends the Hankeys take there kids on the Santa Train not far from our house and this year they invited us along! It is an old train that runs on the tracks that used to take timber from the woods and mountains to the bay. Santa comes to each seat on the train and sits and talks with each kid. It actually says on the ticket that the train ride is between and hour and a half to two hours depending on how detailed the kids are with their lists for Santa... hilarious!! Willa is a bit young to enjoy it but she had a great time playing with Eli and Rachael... as you can see in the pictures below.
The whole gang with Santa in front of the train!

Willa Meets Santa

It is Willa's first Christmas so, we thought it only right that she meet jolly old Saint Nick. As you can see from the picture, he was jolly, she was unsure. She kept her eyes on her GranJan!

Thanksgiving

We had a great Thanksgiving spent with both of Willa's Grandmas. Here are some pics from a few of our fun filled days!
Goofing for the camera!

Outings and Family Fun

We don't know if it's teething or just a strange fascination with cabinet pulls but Willa is always trying to open cabinets with her mouth!

Since Bret works four tens he has Fridays off. We always try to do something fun as a family... our Family Fun Friday! This was Willa's first visit to the pool. As you can see, she loves it!!

Here Willa is heading out to story time at the library. They have a special story time for babies and toddlers. We sing and dance and, of course, read stories. This is our Tuesday outing.

On Monday's we spend the morning at Willa's play group/ Leah's moms group. All of us have little ones within a few months of eachother. It so fun to see them grow and play together!

Vanity thy name is Willa! Willa loves to look at herself in the mirror. She really cracks herself up! Here she is taking one last peak before we head to church.

We have family time each night just before Willa goes to bed. It usually entails a little cuddling on the couch and a lot of watching Lyle and Willa play.
