Our Trip to California

We flew down to the Bay area to visit Leah's grandma, brother and extended family. It was great to see family but travel was a challenge!! Here are a few pictures from the trip.

After we flew in we made a quick stop to see Grandma then headed to the hotel for some rest!!

Bret and Willa had had it with travel... it was only day 2!!

We had a nice family outing to Santa Cruz. It was a beautiful day and a beautiful drive!

This is what a three hour delay looks like!

We are finally on our way home!! I don't think we will be traveling any time soon!

Halloween

So, I know you were all wondering... "What will Willa be for Halloween? A lion? A flower? A ladybug?" The answer is... none of the above. Willa could never be anything so common for Halloween. She was a baby barista. For those of you who don't know what a barista is.. Number1: you obviously don't live in the Northwest. Number 2: You obviously don't drink coffee. I got an old Starbucks apron and cut it down to Willa's size. She dawned the customary black shirt and jeans and she was ready to start work at Starbucks! Here are a few pictures from our church harvest festival, a friends halloween party, and at Starbucks!

Hangin' at Starbucks

Super Short Cinnamon Dolce Latte please!

After about a minute Willa and Riley had had it with Halloween! They were trying to escape their friend Lola's baby proof party!

Playing is serois business thus the serious faces!

Hans and Janel were in charge of the face paintng booth at the church festival but mostly they just scared kids with their hideous mullets. Hans' belt buckle said "Truckers move America"

This is obviously at the church festival... note the wretched church basement carpet!

Hurray Willa's first Halloween!!

Not Happy...

There seems to be a commonly held misconception out there that Willa is always happy. She is, in fact, a very happy baby, however, she does have her moments! Here are a few caught on camera!

Bath Time!

Willa loves bath time. I think she would live in the tub if we would let her!!

Playing at the Park

We are so blessed to live a few short blocks from two great parks and equally blessed to be enjoying a beautiful fall. Here are couple pics of Willa at the park.

Willa is too small to climb the jungle gym now but watch out... she is on her way!

American Carver Premier

Our dear friends and former roommates Hans and Janel Erchinger-Davis had the Bellingham premier of their documentary "American Carver". It was a huge success and played to a sell out crowd. The Pickford Cinema hosted the event and had an encore showing the next week because they had to turn people away!! For those of you who haven't heard us talk about the film... American Carver follows the journey of the Lummi Nation head (totem) carver, Jewel Praying Wolf James, as he takes a totem pole he carved in memory of the victims of 911 to the Pentegon. They stop at reservations across the nation so other tribes can bless the pole as it heads to it's final resting place. It is a powerful film. Note... Bret and I were living with Hans and Janel during much of the time Hans was editing... we were honored to make the special thank yous in the credits of the film! Here are a few pics of Hans and Janel at the director/producer Q&A after the screening.
