Bret's inaugural trip in his kayak!

Bret has been building his kayak for the past year and finished it this week! It is a beauty! His friends Matt and Kevin joined him in his first trip paddling in the Bellingham Bay!

Our trip to Victoria

Bret took Jan and Leah on a Mothers day trip to Victoria. We started at Buchart Gardens... beautiful! We spent the rest of our time in Victoria. We went to this Italian restaurant where we went on our first anniversary a couple years ago. Leah was determined to find it again... we couldn't be sure it was as good as we remember... was it good because it was good or was it good because we had a bit of wine. Well we found it and it was just plain old good... and we had a bit of wine... oh well!

Spit Happens!

Willa is quite a good eater and in turn quite a good puker... sometimes we get in the way. This time it was granjan!

Mother's Day

We celebrated Leah's first Mother's Day... with flowers, a delicious breakfast, dinner by the water, and a massage!! What a treat!

When there is no pacifier Willa makes do with whatever is around... she is very flex!

40 sermons in a sitting...

O.K. that is a bit of an exaggeration...Dennis/Granddad came out for his annual study leave where he writes many of his sermons for the year. He also made time to hang out with us... mostly Willa. It's o.k. we know we've become chopped liver!

Reunion

The 17th Ave house where Bret lived in college had a reunion. It was great to see good friends and old roommates. Here is Bret and Willa with Einar and Andy!

Willa of Catan!

Here is a shot of Willa's first game of Settlers of Catan. Note how intently she is studying the cards. She is very advanced at Settlers!!!

A very Hankey Monday

Willa's Aunt Jana came out for a visit... we got to spend the day with our good friends Stephanie, Eli, and Rachel Hankey! We ended the day at the tulip fields just down the road.

Multi tasking

There's nothing like the snuggly and the vacuum to put a baby to sleep. We are also teaching Willa to vacuum through osmosis.

Mommy and Me Yoga

Leah and Willa go to mommy and me yoga every Tuesday... this is Willa practicing a "Savasana" pose at home. She is very advanced at yoga! This is obviously the "me" part of mommy and me since mommy is taking the picture.

This is Willa's Elvis impersonation... she is very advanced in the impersonation department. It could just be she sick of all the kisses we cover her with! She is also preparing for her "Fame" audition... note the leg warmers.

Willa's Trip East

We ended the day in New Jersey with Aunt Jana and Uncle Jim. We spent the evening and next day with them at their home in North Brunswick and at Princeton.


We went from nana's to visit Bret's Great Uncle Ed... Willa's Great-Great Uncle!!!





Bret's Aunt Sandy and Aunt Carolyn joined us for lunch with nana. It was so nice to spend time with family and introduce Willa to them!!



The next day we drove east to Philadelphia to visit to make the rounds with family in that area... it was a whirlwind visit starting with a surprise visit to Bret's nana (Willa's great grandmother).



Willa's Aunt Cori was there to greet her as well... she loved her Aunt Cori!


Dennis and Karen met us at the airport where Willa met her Grandad for the first time.
