Stefani's Visit

One of Leah's best friends, Stefani (ne ne) came to visit... she took great care of us... cooking great food and lots of cuddles for Willa.

Bath Time!!

Willa's first bath was quite an adventure for all of us!

Sleepy Daddy & Willa

This is what nap time looks like at our house these days!

Happy Willa

It is amazing what clean diaper can do for your attitude!

Sad Willa

A dirty diaper can really seem like the end of the world to a two week old!!

Family Photo

It has taken us over a week to actually sit down and take a little family photo... here it is!

Grandma is happy
GranJan is happy

Lyle's new favorite flavor, Willa

We brought Willa home on Sunday afternoon.

Thanks to Bret's engineering degree and high level of patience, he was able to properly install the car seat. Daddy is happy.

Mama is happy.Willa is happy.

We spent 3 nights in the hospital. There was a bed/window seat for Bret to sleep in. No kids were allowed to visit so we snuck a peak out the window.

Willa Marie Macaleer

We think she has Leah's nose and Bret's hair line.
All is well. We will most likely be at the hospital until Sunday.
Leah got to see her for a minute before Bret and Willa left the room.
Once in the operating room things happened pretty fast. Everything went smooth and she came out just fine. At 9:55 pm on February 28 she weighed in at 8lbs 7oz and 20 inches long.
By 8:30 pm things had stalled and we geared up for a c-section. Bret and Jan were able to sit with Leah in the operating room. Bret didn't watch too much of the procedure.

Finally, on Thursday morning, some action. We got to the hospital around 8:30 am.

39 Week Belly

This is it no more belly pictures! She is not allowed to get any bigger!

Party in Anacortes!

We were so excited to spend an afternoon with our sweet friends the Hankeys and Chandlers. We celebrated Stephanie and Rachel's birthdays and had a mini shower for baby Macaleer. It was a great time!

The Man Shower

You see here the results of the "Man Shower" Bret's friends threw for him... they got him over 750 diapers and an REI gift card for some sort of manly/outdoor baby gift. Just picture a group of twelve or so guys walking into the local brewery carrying a pack of diapers... enough said... hilarity ensued.

Lummi Island

We spent a sunny MLK Day at one of our favorite destinations... Lummi Island. Just a quick ferry ride across the bay... we spent the afternoon walking the beach and enjoying the scenery!

35 Week Belly

Ever expanding... here it is... The Belly!!! Still no change in Bret... it's maddening really!

The Baby Shower

Here are a some pics from the baby shower... Leah with the great food and gifts and the sweet shower hostesses Alissa, Robin, Barb, Megan and Janel. One last pic... the aftermath!! It was a lovely shower! We were overwhelmed and so appreciative. Thanks to all our friends and family who truly showered us with gifts and blessings.

The Nursery... in progress!

So, here is a picture of how we are coming along on the nursery... it's a small room so it is hard to get everything in... you get the gist!

We will hit 'em, we will wreck 'em... hit'em, wreck'em Texas Tech!!

We spent New years day with the folks (only Ron was missing) and a couple friends watching the Gator Bowl. Texas Tech vs. UVA... go Red Raiders! We are happy to report that Tech was triumphant in the end. Bret spent most of the game playing chess... football is not his thing!! Still, it was a fun way to start the new year! You will notice that everyone in the picture has their guns up in support of Texas Tech!

"The Crib"

It took no time at all! Bret read a few directions, turned a few screws and voila we had a crib! I guess we can officially have a baby now!

So, we planned on working on the baby's room the week after X-mas... we have some time off, Bret's folks are in town to lend a hand, etc.... didn't happen. Bret was itching to put something together and started with our changing table and the next day came the crib...

Thanksgiving

We had a great Thanksgiving spent with mom (Jan) and our sweet friends Mike and Robin Stacey. We had a delicious meal, a long walk in the park, and went out for a Thanksgiving movie. We saw "No Country for Old Men" which everyone disliked but Leah (she read the book). We look forward to next Thanksgiving when we have the addition of our baby and Leah's Grandpa!!

Monday, November 12, 2007

We got to spend a few days in Cannon Beach, Oregon... that's where the famous Haystack Rock is... aka Goonie Rock... Goonies was filmed there! It was 65 and sunny for four days.... gorgeous! We hiked the local sate park and walked the beach for hours every day.
